Application Development Analyst Intermediate - Location: Montgomery, AL - Clearance: Background Check

Responsibilities:

This position will work on site as an Applications Development Analyst - Intermediate with the Labor Department for the State of Alabama located in Montgomery, Alabama. This is considered intermediate position.

The Applications Development Analyst will assist ADOL’s UI programming support staff with the developing, testing, documenting, and ongoing maintenance of all systems, sub-systems, and associated processes deployed for use by and in support of the Unemployment Compensation Division. Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization’s architectural standards. Involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. They will also make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code.

Skills Required:

  1. Ability to develop solutions requiring analysis and research
  2. Work on small to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge in a specific business area
  3. Work on one or more projects as a project team member or occasionally as a project lead
  4. Must have experience working in the following environments/languages:
    1. IBM Mainframe
    2. COBOL
    3. CICS
    4. VSAM
    5. Easytrieve
    6. JCL
Required Qualifications/Experience

  • Typically has 8 plus years of programming/systems analysis experience
  • Must have experience in these technical environments: IBM Mainframe, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, Easytrieve and JCL
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Strongly prefer in person interviews that will be a panel interview consisting of 2-3 individuals
  • This position is strictly contract with a minimal chance to extend beyond the 2080 budgeted hours
