Database Analyst Intermediate - Location: Montgomery, AL - Clearance: Background Check

Responsibilities:

This position will work on site as a Database Analyst - Intermediate with the Medicaid Agency for the State of Alabama located in Montgomery, Alabama. This is considered intermediate position.

The Database Analyst will be responsible for developing applications and integrations using the Microsoft SQL Server platform and providing technical / production support. This will include business intelligence / data analysis, reporting, capturing requirements, testing, monitoring and implementing solutions via a structured software development life cycle. This includes but is not limit to:

  1. Providing IT support to Health Systems and Program Administration Division
  2. Designing and developing normalized and de-normalized databases
  3. Performing relational and multi-dimensional modeling and schema creation
  4. Designing and developing Reports in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  5. Designing and developing ETL packages in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  6. Participating in meetings with project managers, team leads, analyst, and other Agency staff as needed
  7. Assisting in mentoring and training of non-IT analyst.

The candidate must have data warehouse experience following Kimball’s Methodology.

Required Qualifications/Experience

  • A minimum of 3 – 5 years of IT work experience as SQL/BI developer and support and relevant computing environments
  • The candidate must have data warehouse experience following Kimball’s Methodology
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience
Special Requirements:

  • Greater than 5 years’ experience including experience working in health care data analytics
  • Position is for 6 months
  • Position is on-site at the designated GPO location
  • Remote work will be authorized when GPO facility is closed
  • Position will be a salaried (exempt position)
